MISSION

Fondazione Nicola Del Roscio was established in September 2019 by Nicola Del Roscio, the President of Cy Twombly Foundation, New York. The programme of the Fondazione Nicola Del Roscio includes the production of exhibitions by artists of international relevance, together with a calendar of in-depth events and literary, musical and cinematographic proposals. Through the #ProjectRoom format, Fondazione Nicola Del Roscio is configured as an observatory on the contemporary production of young Italian and international artists, invited to participate through projects of experimentation and research on the most urgent themes of contemporaneity.

HEADQUARTER

Fondazione Nicola Del Roscio is located in via Francesco Crispi, in a building dating back to the 1920s, which in the 1960s was the home of the famous Teatro Florida, whose image still remains in the memory of many Romans and is preserved among the frames of the film Ladri di biciclette (Bicycle Thieves) (1948) by Vittorio De Sica. A cultural space in the heart of Rome, between the Spanish Steps and Via del Tritone, open to the city and aimed at the global art scene in the name of research and support for the arts of our time.

ENVIROMENT AND SCIENCE

Particular attention is also paid to the themes of science, the environment and biodiversity, as is the tradition of the Nicola Del Roscio Foundation, which for years has been involved in the management of the Monte Orlando Botanical Garden in Gaeta, established in 1985 thanks to Del Roscio’s passion for botany and the environment, on the abandoned land surrounding a medieval house, between ancient Gaeta and the modern city. The Foundation has also always been committed to medical and scientific research, and over the years has awarded numerous scholarships and funding for research with the aim of ensuring health and wellbeing for all.
