Project Conference One Plant for Every Inhabitant | FNDR and Gaeta Municipality
‘A PLANT FOR EVERY INHABITANT: GAETA, THE GREENEST CITY IN THE MEDITERRANEAN’, THE PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT IN ROME, AT FONDAZIONE NICOLA DEL ROSCIO
Gaeta, december 2, 2023 – ‘A Plant for Every Inhabitant: Gaeta, Greenest City in the Mediterranean’ is the title of the ambitious project launched by the Fondazione Nicola Del Roscio and the Municipality of Gaeta, in collaboration with the Cy Twombly Foundation, Cethegus s.c.p.a. and the Gaetano and Simona Golinelli Foundation, which will be presented in Rome on Tuesday 5 December at 11.30 a.m. at Fondazione Nicola Del Roscio, in Via Francesco Crispi 18.
The aim is to introduce more than twenty thousand new plants in urban areas, starting in 2026 and for a period of ten years, so that there can be an improvement in the proportions of inhabitants and green areas, as well as raising the awareness of young people to respect nature and the environment. Fondazione Nicola Del Roscio will choose the most suitable plants to be planted, among Mediterranean climate species.
Environmental sustainability, urban regeneration, production of more oxygen, improvement of wellbeing and quality of life, but also a strong spin-off in terms of branding for our City and our territory: not only the promoting and financing Foundation will be involved, but also the entire associative and institutional fabric, which will collaborate in the realisation of this great ambition, starting from the suburbs, in order to make Gaeta the Greenest City in the Mediterranean.
On this occasion, a further project of national relevance concerning the City of Gaeta will also be presented. This is the three-yearly ‘Tra Natura e Mito, Gaeta città d’Arte permanente’ (‘Between Nature and Myth, Gaeta City of Permanent Art’), which has seen the commitment of Cethegus s.c.p.a. over two years of work: an initiative of international calibre, placed within the evolutionary process that the Municipality of Gaeta is setting in the cultural sphere, capable of offering masterpieces ranging from Caravaggio to Haring, via Botticelli, Titian, Manet and Boudin. The exhibition will sublimate the city’s artistic vocation, sedimented in Gaeta’s DNA since time immemorial, in order to meet the needs of an increasingly attentive public and, at the same time, expand the already varied and high-level tourist offer. Gaeta, thus, consolidates the international scope of its tourism brand, fitting right into the segment of major cultural events.
The presentation event will be attended by Nicola Del Roscio, president of the foundation of the same name and the Cy Twombly Foundation; Cristian Leccese, Mayor of Gaeta; Cosmo Mitrano, Councillor of the Lazio Region; Giovanni Acampora, President of the Chamber of Commerce Frosinone Latina; Massimo Giovanchelli, Commissario Straordinario Parco Riviera di Ulisse; Rosalba Giugni, president of Marevivo; Tiziana Frittelli, national president of Federsanità; Giuseppe D’Aghino, organiser of the Triennale; Pierluigi Carofano, curator of the ‘Medusa’ and ‘Metamorfosi’ exhibitions; Leonardo Valle, president of Cethegus s. c.p.a.
The meeting will be moderated by Marco Frittella, director of communication and institutional relations RAI Com, journalist and TG1 anchorman.
