From Saturday 25 May<\/strong> to Friday 5<\/strong> July, the Fondazione Nicola Del Roscio<\/strong> and the Cy Twombly Foundation<\/strong> present the second edition<\/strong> of Un\/veiled,<\/em><\/strong> a project curated by Nicola Del Roscio<\/strong> and Eleonora Di Erasmo<\/strong>, from Saturday 25 May to Friday 5 July, at the spaces in Via Crispi 18, celebrating different artistic languages in homage to the work of Cy Twombly<\/strong>. Un\/veiled. Inside the creative process (after Cy Twombly)<\/em><\/strong> is a multidisciplinary program<\/strong> that consists of five evenings of live concerts, dance, poetry, talks,<\/strong> a listening station dedicated to Morton Feldman<\/strong> and an exhibition of works<\/strong> by musician and visual artist Devendra Banhart,<\/strong> in collaboration with Galleria Mazzoli, Modena.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>The calendar includes the involvement of internationally renowned artists: Morton Feldman<\/strong> (listening station Triadic Memories<\/em>, 1981), Devendra Banhart<\/strong> (live 25 May, 9 pm), MYRA MELFORD\u00b4S SPLASH TRIO with Michael Formanek & Ches Smith <\/strong> (live 30 May, 9 pm), Dean Rader<\/strong> and Carlos Peris<\/strong> (presentation of Dean Rader’s publications Before the Borderless: Dialogues with the Art of Cy Twombly<\/em>, 2023 and Carlos Peris, From State of Mind to the Tangible. The Photographic Cosmos of Cy Twombly<\/em>, 2022, June 7, 6.30 pm), PLAY\/Mich\u00e8le Murray<\/strong> (dance June 22, 9.00 pm), Eraldo Bernocchi<\/strong> and Rita Marcotulli<\/strong> (live June 29, 9.00 pm).<\/p>\n

<\/strong>Un\/veiled<\/em><\/strong> is the unprecedented result of extensive research conducted over the last four years by the Cy Twombly Foundation at its Rome and Gaeta offices at the behest of Nicola Del Roscio<\/strong>, aimed at collecting, documenting and preserving in its archives the musical, choreographic and poetic compositions of artists who have been inspired by or have attempted to construct an intimate dialogue with the works of Cy Twombly. From this research in 2022 came the idea of inviting some of the most interesting personalities on the international scene, who have tried their hand at reinterpreting Twombly’s work, to perform in a series of live concerts at the spaces of Fondazione Nicola Del Roscio.<\/p>\n

Devendra Banhart<\/strong> opens the performance program of the second edition of Un\/veiled<\/em> on Saturday, May 25<\/strong>, performing live at the Foundation in an acoustic concert that takes a journey through his vast musical repertoire, which also includes pieces from his latest album, Flying Wig<\/em> (2023). The second scheduled evening, Thursday, May 30<\/b>, features jazz pianist and composer Myra Melford<\/b>, and her new trio, Splash<\/b>, featuring bassist Michael Formanek<\/b> and drummer\/vibraphonist Ches Smith<\/b>. Their project is the latest installment of Melford\u2019s ongoing body of work inspired by and engaging with the work of Cy Twombly, entitled, An Extravagant Joy (for Cy Twombly). Melford doesn\u2019t attempt to directly translate Twombly\u2019s work in sonic form; instead, she approaches her own musical language via techniques and processes using action words \u2013 \u201cSplash\u201d among them \u2013 to propel both compositions and improvisations, discovering means to capture the impression of spontaneity in concrete forms, and the energy and physicality of the gestures that made them<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
